The Barbara Carroll Community Outreach and Development Corporation [BCCODC] (501c3) is a separate and independent entity organized in 2004 to serve the diverse needs of individuals in Planning District 16, which includes the City of Fredericksburg, Caroline, King George, Spotsylvania and Stafford Counties who require assistance in meeting their day-to-day needs. Families and individuals in our community go without food due to a variety of factors in their lives such as unemployment, low income, family dynamics, illness, etc. In partnership with the Fredericksburg Area Food Bank, Barbara Carroll, a USDA-approved program, is available.
The food pantry is located at 210 Wolfe Street, Fredericksburg, Virginia. Operating hours are 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Tuesdays of each month by appointment only. The pantry coordinators, Gale and Douglas Jones, can be reached at 540-841-5106 and/or P.O. Box 102, Fredericksburg, Virginia 22404.
Members’ request for groceries should note any dietary restrictions (i.e., no pork, red meat, fish, nuts, etc.) and provide their name, address, telephone number and the number of family members, including children, their deacon or Gale Jones at (540-841-5106). This information is CONFIDENTIAL and required by the Food Bank for their records and will not be shared with anyone. Members may schedule one pantry visit per month. Members who meet USDA Eligibility Income Guidelines will qualify for greatly enhanced grocery boxes packed with USDA commodities.
The Christian Education Ministry leads our church in helping all of God’s Children “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 3:18). This ministry includes various Bible Studies, Sunday School Classes, Vacation Bible School, Black History Month Celebration, Financial Mentorship, Graduation Recognition & Baccalaureate Service, ongoing New Members Training, Prayer Ministry, and workshops.
The Communications Ministry is responsible for capturing significant and special church activities, ministry events, membership milestones, and external engagements. We produce the Capstone Newsletter, published quarterly.
Culinary Arts provides meals and/or refreshments for various types of events, celebrations and occasions.
The Health Care Ministry provides emergency, short-term intervention and care to a parishioner in a crisis situation who is suffering from an acute or chronic disorder during church service, and/or any other church activity. The ministry coordinates CPR Training, educates membership on seasonal, emerging and chronic medical conditions, oversees medical supplies for the church and participates in health-related outreach programs.
The purpose of the Marriage Ministry is to enrich the lives of married couples and encourage them into a closer and more intimate relationship with God and their spouses through Biblical education, workshops, retreats, conferences and recreational activities. We also assist engaged couples in their premarital journey.
The Media Ministry coordinates the broadcast of all worship services through various media outlets, records all services and events, manages the audio-visual operations within the sanctuary and supports special offsite church and community events as required. The ministry facilitates participation by members who cannot be physically present for a worship experience as well as dissemination of the Gospel message to the greater world community.
Our Men’s Ministry mission is to build men up from the inside out. We meet spiritual and social needs unique to men at various stages of manhood through Christian application. Our time together is inspiring and tailor-made for brothers seeking God.
Micah Ecumenical Ministries is a 501(c)3 non-profit collaboration of nine churches located in downtown Fredericksburg, Virginia responsible for coordinating church efforts to cultivate community and care for neighbors. Micah responds to God’s call to do justice, to love kindness and to walk humbly with God
(Micah 6:8).
The Missions Ministry aims to be Christlike, compassionate and helpful to members and neighbors. We provide support to children, partner with other missional organizations in our area, coordinate food distribution and clothing drives throughout the year. Our goal is to lead our congregation into Matthew 25 ministry near and far.
Our purpose is to lead all in-person and virtual worshipers in worshiping God in spirit and in truth. We aim to make God’s praise glorious through music, singing, drama and dance. This includes oversight of all choirs, musicians and dance for regular internal worship experiences, special events and external worship opportunities.
The Security Ministry provides members and guests with a safe and secure worship service by ensuring adequate security monitoring/reporting.
The Social Justice Ministry advocates for those who experience an injustice and seek to be a driving force to influence our local and social climate. Through collaboration with others and establishing partnerships, the ministry can boldly address issues that are in conflict with God's teachings and principles.
The Stephen Ministry trains Stephen Ministers (caregivers) to show the love of Jesus Christ by providing confidential, Christian care and support for persons in the church and community (care receivers) in their times of need. Stephen Ministers meet with their care receivers weekly to minister through prayer, praise, personal contact, telecare and active listening as we nurture them through Jesus Christ toward wholeness. The ministry provides bereavement support to the church and community through the Journeying through Grief series.
Our Usher’s specialize in hospitality! This is done by providing comfort to the members, friends and guests of the church through promptness, courtesy and consideration.
Our purpose is to empower, strengthen and encourage women to serve Christ in the home, church and community. We meet women where they are in Christ to educate and provide support in a loving manner. Women of all ages and lifestyles are welcomed to join us!
The vision of our Youth Ministry is to guide all children and teenagers into a faith foundation rooted in knowing God and seeking God’s kingdom. We value young people’s faith expression and sincere curiosity. Our youth lead worship services throughout the year, develop friendships through activities, experience serving others and more!
